Brie and Relish Puff Pastry recipe

Indulge your dinner guests with a spectacularly elegant, yet deceptively easy, appetizer on the table. Luxurious Brie cheese just oozes out of these puff pastry treats, and you can make them as sweet or savory as you like, depending on the relish you choose to use.

Ingredients:

1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup fruit relish of choice (link to cranberry, peach, cherry relishes listed in recipe section)
¼ cup toasted sliced almond
1 (13-ounce) round Brie cheese

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 400°F. Beat egg and water in a small bowl.

2) Unfold pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface; roll into a 14-inch square. Spread relish evenly over surface, leaving a 2-inch border on all sides. Sprinkle with almonds.

3) Place cheese in center of pastry; fold pastry up over cheese to cover. Press to seal. Brush seams with egg mixture.

4) Place seam-down onto a baking sheet; brush with remaining egg mixture. Bake 20 minutes, until golden brown. Let stand 20 minutes; serve warm.
